How to Rent
Every product comes with a daily rental rate listed on its Product page. For most hour meter equipment, this rental rate covers a standard 9-hour runtime – little over the length of most work days – for every 24 hour period. For equipment ran more than 9-hours a day, there will be a charge for every additional hour.
All equipment must be returned in the same condition it left E-Z Rental Center in, which includes being clean and full of fuel. But we wanted to make that easy on you. Before you leave our store, you and your E-Z Rental servicer will go over proper operation of your equipment.
What do I need to rent?
Just bring a valid driver’s license and credit card deposit (for certain equipment) and we can get you started with your E-Z Rental equipment.
When does my 24-hour rental period begin?
This may seem self-explanatory, but we’ve gotten this question a few times. We start your rental time when the equipment leaves our door. If you leave E-Z Rental Center at 11 a.m. with our 24-hour rental equipment agreement, you have until 11 a.m. the next day.
What about a week rental time? Four weeks?
One week rental periods account for 7 days with equipment and includes 45 hours of runtime. A four week rental means 28 days with the equipment and includes 180 hours of runtime. There will be a charge for every additional hour the equipment is run over the allowed runtime.
How does weekend rental work?
You can pickup rental equipment on Friday and return it on Monday at 7:30 a.m., resulting in a 1.5 day charge or 13.5 hours of runtime. If a customer picks their equipment up on Saturday and returns it on Monday at 7:30 a.m., it results in a 1 day charge with a standard 9-hour runtime.
What happens if I hold the equipment past the end of the agreed upon rental period?
If you think your project may take longer than expected, please don’t plan to keep whatever equipment you have for an additional day. Your equipment may be scheduled for rent by another E-Z Rental customer upon its return, so late returns can unintentionally delay someone else’s project.
If you think you’ll need more time with a piece of equipment, give us a call at (618)-457-4127 and we will help keep your project running as smooth as we can.
What is a 9-hour runtime and why is there an additional charge for running equipment longer than nine hours a day?
Running any piece of equipment for too long can cause undue wear and tear on the equipment itself, but don’t let that worry you. Most jobs don’t run any piece of equipment for longer than 9-hours anyway.
Each piece of equipment has a limited lifespan till we have to send it on to the Island of Broken Tools – or as some people call it, the dump. Any additional charges are solely to cover the added wear and tear of longer-than-expected use. Besides that, it’s an industry standard.
